with my friends.
There was my ‘Suz,
Crushed spirit and a broken body,
Lyin’ on a bed of daisy petals.
Tommy’s bands a playin
O’er the meadow of the damned,
O’er my ‘Suz and her daisies.
Trumpeter crackin’ like a whip
Callin to his bræsen god.
‘Forget me not he says,
Pay my bills he says,
Feed my mouth he says,
And in the dark if you feel
Sing me to sleep my god.
It’s a might bit to ask
But you gave me my gift…
Afterall.’
‘Suz wheres your god?’ I say.
‘I ain’t never had no talent’
Her croakin moan
Over the mad brass man.
‘I ain’t never had a god
And here I lay, ruined,
Cause I don’t know how,
Don’t know how to get back up.’
Then I answer.
‘Ain’t no shame, so what,
The muse turned her back?
It may seem that faith,
In all its mystery, is gone
But don’t you cry ‘Suz.
Please don’t cry m’dear.’
A Pause.
‘I know a man ain’t proud
Won’t turn no follower down.
You follow him ‘Suz
He’s right there beside you.
You follow old Death ‘Suz,
He ain’t never done
No man wrong.’
Mainly because I hadn't been aware that I hadn't made it. On July 27th while I was in NC I asked Sabrina to marry me and she said yes. Though the official date is July 28th. Makes me very happy. It is a wonderful feeling to have someone care for you and take care of you in the way Sabrina takes care of me I couldn't live without her. I tried for 3 years up until almost a year ago.
This is what prompted the gas mask images.
So this is BMI or Brain Machine Interface. Essentially this is the realization of Robotech/Macross. Some might ask whats going on, well this guy is strapped into a machine that is scanning his head for brain function. When he commits to certain actions (I.E. relaxing a clenched fist and spreading his fingers out) the scanner reveals what centers of his brain are creating the exercise. Next the data is transmitted to the robotic hand and it reacts. Not quite realtime but still new. This opens up worlds of application. One day military vehicles may be controlled by this technology further out still maybe even video games could interface this way. One of the startling possibilities I see though I'm sure no one has actually committed to such an idea is that maybe someday through analysis of how the brain dreams we could in reality decode and record our fantasies, nightmares and imaginations.
Here is a preview for a cute Japanese movie called Hinokio. Basically the movie surrounds Hinokio a robotic boy that is controlled by a very real one. The main character was recently crippled and is recovering at home so he uses this little gadget to go to school while he can't.
Possibly my favorite video on the web as of 7-31-2006. This is a prototype wheelchair with legs facilitating the use of stairs for the disabled. Slow but imagine what could come later.
My information is a bit fuzzy here due to lack of sources but here is how I understand this video. This is a mannequin on display in an art museum in Japan, her name is chatty. She repeatedly says "Humpty Dumpty" on the sites I read I am to assume that this is not a projection and rather a screen on the mannequin. Perhaps this is how future gadgets will interface with mankind?
I set about writing an automator workflow to render fresh images from the net or scans. Basically I had to take very large files and cram them down into something that I could utilize on say Vox. My last post contained the first batch of rendered images from my workflow. This workflow takes any file placed in an input folder (based on user selection) and "pads" images. Image padding is basically taking a predefined canvas (in my case 600px by 600px) it shrinks the largest image measurment down to 600px and pads the other measurment with black space. It then sorts the new cut down images into another folder labeled output and serializes them via title. So basically I start with 1mb or more image files and end up with 100k reconfigurations. So let me spell out the workflow. Screen caps to follow at some later date.
